Luther Vandross於1951年4月20日出生於美國紐約最北部的Bronx區, 是其中一位傳奇的黑人R&B男歌手,他的總唱片銷量達3000萬張, 在他近三十年的音樂生涯中，共出版了17張專輯，15張精選，歌手是年青人的世界,但也在30歲時才推出《Never Too Much》專輯,之後便一發不可收拾,在80年代, 被譽為 R&B 三大歌手,另外兩位便是Stevie Wonder和Michael Jackson。
